In Review: Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (D) was elected Governor, defeating Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli. The election results on Tuesday will also increase the Democrats’ majority in the state Assembly. Going into Tuesday night’s election, they held a 52-28 majority and will expand to at least 55, and could go as high as 57.
It is unclear at the moment what impact the election results will have on a lame duck session as it relates to the delinking bill. PCMA is still anticipating that the delinking/fiduciary/dispensing fees legislation, AB 4953, could be heard in committee as soon as November 24. This week, PCMA launched a digital advertising campaign opposing “delinking” legislation. In addition, our on-the-ground field team in the state is active and working to secure grassroots voices opposing the “delinking” bill. Finally, the lame duck session will end on January 12, 2026, and the new session will start the following day.
