New Mexico Weekly Update 2.20.24

In Review: Last week, the New Mexico Legislature adjourned their 30-day budget session after the House passed Senate Bill 135 restricting step therapy and prior authorization in New Mexico’s state plans and the fully insured markets. PCMA submitted a request that the Governor take no action on the bill, which would serve as a pocket veto after 20 days. PCMA appreciates the hard work of our members and their local counsel during this quick session in New Mexico, and we will redouble our efforts on ally development in New Mexico ahead of next year’s 60-day session and the “PBM study” we expect from Senator Martin Hickey (D).
