North Carolina Weekly Update 3.24.25

In Review: On Friday, Senate leadership staff shared their version of drug pricing reform legislation with PCMA. The proposal includes: point-of-sale rebates, fiduciary language, drug manufacturer transparency, additional requirements for manufacturer copay coupons, PSAO regulation, and reforms around pharmacies accepting reimbursements below cost and the ability to decline to dispense, with certain requirements. The bill is markedly better than its House counterpart, HB 163. PCMA is gathering additional input from members on some questionable provisions and will be following up with Senate staff later this week.
