North Carolina Weekly Update 4.14.25

In Review: Last week, SB 479 was amended and passed out of the Senate Health Committee. The amendment included changes that, in part, address some of the items PCMA and members have provided Senator Benton Sawrey (R); however, several priority issues, like fiduciary and point-of-sale rebates, remain unchanged and problematic.

Up Next: Senate Bill 479 will be heard in the Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday. Following that committee, the bill will head to the Senate Finance Committee for action the week of April 28. Senate staff have indicated that any additional changes to the bill would occur then. Additionally, HB 163 (NADAC + DF, spread pricing, affiliate parity, point-of-sale rebates) will be up in the House Regulatory Reform Committee on Tuesday for its last committee stop before going to the House floor. Also, on Tuesday, HB 434 (gold carding) will be up in the House Health Committee for its first hearing.
