In Review: Last week, SB 479 was amended on the Senate floor and subsequently unanimously passed out of the chamber 45-0. The amendment did not address many of the industry concerns, including the fiduciary mandate, point-of-sale rebates, and affiliate parity language, and more. With HB 163 (NADAC + DF, spread pricing, accreditation, point-of-sale rebates) in the hands of the Senate and SB 479 with the House, the team is waiting to find out how the two proposals will be reconciled in a conference committee.
