North Carolina Weekly Update 7.1.24

In Review: Last Friday, the North Carolina General Assembly passed an adjournment resolution, wrapping up most of their official work. With the resolution, HB 246 is effectively dead. While the legislature will not be taking up much controversial work, they do plan on coming in for monthly sessions ranging from two to four days. The short session will likely officially end in December. During the interim, Senator Jim Burgin (R) has indicated to local counsel that he wants to bring stakeholders together, similar to the same exercise PCMA and members went through with him last year.
