North Dakota Weekly Update 1.20.26

In Review: The Rural Health Transformation Committee met last week and approved five (5) bills related to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the state’s application for federal funding. One of those bills concerns pharmacy scope/therapeutic substitution and was approved by the Committee last October. The Committee again discussed the bill related to pharmacy scope, and it was approved with some amendments. The five bills were later discussed at a Legislative Management Meeting and will be drafted for introduction during the Special Session.

Up Next: The North Dakota legislature will be called into Special Session by the Governor on January 21, and the plan is for it to go for three days. The Special Session is meant to focus on issues related to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but other issues may be introduced.
