North Dakota Weekly Update 2.10.25

In Review: Last week, PCMA testified in opposition to SB 2280 (prior authorization) which had a hearing in the Senate Industry and Business Committee. PCMA and Prime Therapeutics hosted a dinner with the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce and several members of the Senate Industry and Business Committee and House Business, Industry, and Labor Committee to discuss the various bills in the legislature. PCMA drafted and circulated both a logo letter for businesses to sign on as well as a fiscal analysis relative to HB 1584 (Removal of ERISA Exemption). The language for SB 2249 (Step Therapy Protocol Exceptions) was changed in the Senate Human Services Committee, and now is a bill to study historical mandates during the interim; it went on to pass the House.

Up Next: On Monday, the House Human Services Committee will hold further hearings on HB 1452 (Coverage of Antiobesity Medications/Report to Legislature) and HB 1451 (Coverage of Antiobesity Medications for Medical Assistance). A hearing is scheduled for HB 1584 (Removal of ERISA Exemption) in the House Business, Industry, and Labor Committee on Tuesday, February 11.
