In Review: The Joint Interim Health Care Committee heard numerous presentations on prior authorization from both sides of the issue, including Cigna and AHIP, last Tuesday. The Committee made no decision on the next step, nor did they have a clear path of where this will be headed. However, Chairman Kyle Davison (R) did say that if the Committee wanted to do something legislatively, they needed to start moving on it soon. It was noted that the Committee may meet again in late April. The Health Care Task Force met in Bismarck last Wednesday, which included a reminder of the Task Force goals, timeline, stakeholder engagement plan, a presentation on hospital finances, as well as a discussion relative to an all-payer claims database.
