In Review: The interim Health Care Committee meeting was held on Thursday, May 30. During the “Prior Authorization Study” portion of the agenda, the Committee heard various presentations from providers, including Essentia, relative to the topic. Essentia made reference to the Minnesota prior authorization law, and there were questions about that, as well as drafting a committee bill from the Democrat representatives. However, Chair Kyle Davison (R) did not seem too inclined to draft a bill, and nothing was decided. In fact, Chair Davison asked numerous fair and pointed questions to the various providers.
