In Review: The lame duck session is starting next week. As anticipated, the House Insurance Committee issued a public notice for next week Wednesday, November 13. On the agenda is House Bill 505. The purpose of the hearing is to introduce a substitute amendment to HB 505. As of today, the substitute amendment is not available. Once it becomes available, PCMA will share a copy of the draft.
Up Next: The conventional wisdom at this point is, the author of the bill will introduce and speak on behalf of the substitute amendment on Wednesday, schedule a proponent public hearing the week of the 18, take the week of Thanksgiving off, and then perhaps hold an opponent hearing during the first week of December. This is subject to change, and PCMA will keep you up-to-date with new developments.
