Ohio Weekly Update 12.10.24

In Review: On Wednesday, December 4, The House Insurance Committee held a 5th public hearing on HB 505. A vote was expected on the bill but was canceled due to a lack of support. PCMA’s counsel and coalition team secured a letter from Americans for Prosperity Ohio opposing the bill, which helped draw concern from conservative members of the committee.

Up Next: The House Insurance Committee has scheduled a 6th hearing, with a possible vote on HB 505 for Tuesday, December 10 at 10:00 a.m. The chair has requested written testimony only. The coalition has secured opposition written testimony from, the Greater Akron-Canton Chamber, the Greater Hamilton Chamber, and the Lead Consulting Group. PCMA, OAHP, and AHIP have submitted written testimony in opposition too.
