Ohio Weekly Update 4.29.24

In Review: Last week Tuesday, Representative Tim Barhorst (R-Ft. Loramie) and Brian Stewart (R-Ashville) introduced House Bill 505, known as the Community Pharmacy Protection Act. The legislation is a multipolicy bill that mandates dispensing fees and reporting requirements, prohibits accreditation standards and creates a private right of action violates the prohibition, creates a new metric “Actual Acquisition Cost”, and we believe attempts to apply to ERISA-protected plans. PCMA Coalition has engaged with NFIB and has asked us to cost estimate some of the provisions of the bill. PCMA counsel has met with legislative leadership staff and relevant committee offices. As of today, the legislation awaits committee assignment. Finally, PCMA is meeting with the bill author and other state legislators on May 21.
