Ohio Weekly Update 6.17.24

In Review: Last week, Wednesday, June 12, the House Insurance Committee held a ‘proponent only’ hearing on HB 505 (community pharmacist/anti-PBM omnibus bill). There were 21 proponent testimonies, a majority of which were passionate independent pharmacists claiming to have significant business struggles as a direct result of PBM practices. No votes were taken. PCMA and member companies have asked the chairman of the committee to hold off on scheduling an ‘opponent only’ hearing until after the summer break. Additionally, House Insurance has scheduled a sponsor testimony only for House Bill 509, relating to point-of-sale rebates, on Tuesday, June 18.
