In Review: On Tuesday, June 18, the House Insurance Committee held a sponsors-only hearing on House Bill 509, being dubbed the “Share the Savings”. Sponsor testimony was given by Representatives Tim Barhorst (R -Fort Loramie) and Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati). The overarching message from the bill sponsors is that PBMs and insurance companies are not passing along savings from negotiated drug prices and are rather pocketing those savings out of greed.

Up Next: On Tuesday, June 25, PCMA will participate in an interested party meeting in Columbus on House Bill 505. The bill, known as “The Community Pharmacy Protection Act,” relates to reimbursement and dispensing fees, accreditation, reporting requirements, and establishing a private right of action.
