Ohio Weekly Update 7.7.25

In Review: Governor Mike Dewine (R) vetoed all PBM provisions included in the state budget on June 30. The three provisions included reimbursement floors for Ohio-based pharmacies, a decline to dispense, and a prohibition on retaliation. The Governor’s veto message mentioned the need for PBM oversight, which aligns with the legislation PCMA agreed to remain neutral on that establishes a PBM licensure framework.

Up Next: The legislature is on summer break and will not convene until the Fall. The conventional wisdom at this point is that Representative Kellie Deeter’s (R) HB 229, establishing a PBM licensure framework, will be further considered and debated during the fall session.
