In Review: Oklahoma remains very active in the committee process as we approach the committee deadline this week. PCMA members are providing feedback on HB 3190 to the sponsor, Dr. Newton. PCMA will participate in the stakeholders’ meeting this week. Meanwhile, significant pieces of legislation, including SB1390 (the AG PBM regulation bill), HB3368 (the alternative funding bill), SB1581 (the fiduciary bill), SB1915 (the copay applicability bill), SB 1955 (the cause of action bill), HP 3862 (the utilization review bill), SB 1742 (the payment for one year of prescriptions bill), and SB1628 and HB3379 (the 340B bills) have all passed out of committee and will remain active this session. PCMA and member companies have been actively working on these bills. Some are expected to be amended, and others are expected to not move unless needed as a vehicle for some legislative issue. Nonetheless, the Oklahoma legislative session continues to be active and contentious. The Oklahoma Families for Affordable Healthcare Coalition continues to run campaigns against new mandates and in defense of mail-order services. In the coming weeks, Oklahoma families will intensify their campaign against specific pieces of legislation.
Up Next: The stakeholders meeting for HB 3190 is to be held on Tuesday. PCMA and our members have provided local counsel with potential dates to meet with the attorney general’s office on HB 1670, assuming it comes out of committee this week.
