Oklahoma Weekly Update 5.12.25

In Review: Last week, the Oklahoma Legislature finished another floor deadline and entered the final stretch of the legislative session. In order for bills to remain alive, they must have received a hearing on the floor of the opposite chamber, so both the House and Senate were very active last week. Of note, HB 1808, the prior authorization bill we negotiated, was heard by the Senate, but they refused to restore the title due to the $3 million fiscal impact of the policy. On Wednesday of last week, SB 789 passed the House floor after the sponsor removed the dispensing fee language. Representative T.J. Marti (R) stated that the dispensing fee would be brought back next year, but that the pressure to remove the costly provision required striking it.
