In Review: After initially vetoing SB 1670, Governor Stitt (R) pulled back the veto and allowed the bill to become law without his signature. The bill expanded the Attorney General’s rulemaking authority on audits and included some extremely problematic reimbursement language for pharmacists. Before he made his decision, PCMA, our members, and allies met with staff of the Governor and conducted grassroots and grass tops outreach, however, the bill became a bargaining chip used by the House Speaker to prevent the Governor’s veto. PCMA and our members have now begun the process of leveraging the events of this session into a strategy for next year.
