Oregon Weekly Update 1.16.24

In Review: The Health and Human Services Committee met on January 10 to discuss a new draft bill introduced by Representative Nancy Nathanson (D). This bill aims to bring back House Bill 3013 from the 2023 session, which the Senate rejected in the final days. The PBM lobbyist met with Representatives Nathanson and Christine Goodwin (R) to discuss the bill’s details. This initial discussion is just the beginning of what is sure to be a heated and complex process as stakeholders grapple with the implications of this proposed legislation. The draft still includes controversial cost drivers and impacts on ERISA plans, similar to HB 3013.

Up Next: PCMA members will thoroughly assess the policies outlined in the proposal and present viable options and comprehensive explanations by Friday, January 19.
