In Review: There was a hearing on HB 1016 (Pharmacy Ownership) last week in the House Health and Human Services Committee. Based on testimony during the hearing, the bill is focused on the State Board of Pharmacy increasing fees and no longer providing funds to the South Dakota Pharmacists Association and the Association wanting to be provided the funds that were promised. There was no mention of the pharmacy ownership issue. PCMA will continue to monitor this matter. SB 87 (prior authorization and gold carding) was withdrawn last Thursday. It appears this was because SB 158 (prior authorization and gold carding) was introduced.
