Tennessee Weekly Update 2.27.26

In Review: PCMA and member companies continue to work the hallways in Nashville on HB 1959 and SB 2040, related to Forced Pharmacy Closure. This week, SB 2040 was heard in the Senate Health and Welfare Committee. Proponents of the bill were Tennessee Oncology, a pharmacy owner, and the CEO of the Tennessee Pharmacy Association. In opposition were a business owner, a veteran’s organization, PCMA (to answer questions), and several employees from CVS Caremark. Unfortunately, after debate, the bill passed 8-1 and will move to the Senate Finance Committee.

Up Next: House Bill 1956 will be heard by the House Insurance Committee next week. PCMA met with member companies yesterday to discuss committee strategy and the whip list.
