In Review: This past weekend Texans for Affordable Health Care (TAHC), a consumer-oriented coalition, along with PCMA lobbyists, participated in a Republican Women’s event in Austin. Bringing together 350 women from across the state, this event provided an excellent platform for TAHC to share their message to a large policy and politically focused audience. During the event, TAHC introduced themselves and discussed escalating healthcare costs in Texas. The coalition emphasized a key action item: a “no new mandate” stance, signaling their commitment to advocate for policies that mitigate healthcare cost increases without imposing additional government mandates, including any new mandates for ERISA self-insured plans.
Up Next: Looking ahead, our focus in Texas will be on building upon the momentum generated at the Republican Women’s event. They will continue to strengthen our relationships and amplify our messaging on affordable healthcare. As we navigate a complicated political landscape, our efforts will be directed towards fostering education and support among key stakeholders.
