In Review: Last week, PCMA spoke in the House insurance committee on HB 3233, a bill related to where PBMs store patient data. PCMA worked with the bill sponsor on an amendment, which was accepted, allowing PCMA to now be neutral on the bill. Several bills, including HB 3317 and the Senate companion, advanced last week. The companion bills relate to the Texas Department of Insurance oversight of PBMs, primarily around audits.
Up Next: With over 60 bills tracked by PCMA, we anticipate several bills being active this week. So far, we have kept SB 1122 and SB 1364 from advancing, but expect conversations around SB 1364 to pick up in the coming weeks. As a reminder, SB 1364 is a reimbursement bill that Senator Bryan Hughes (R) has prioritized for 2025. Finally, Representative Dennis Bonnen’s (R) prior authorization bill is still a work in progress. While we have had good conversations with members and leadership on the bill, Rep. Bonnen continues to push HB 3812.
