In Review: PCMA, in coordination with the Texas Association of Health Plans and the Texas Association of Business, has retained John Scott, an Austin-based attorney, to help navigate and respond to the Attorney General issue. As you will recall, Senator Charles Schwertner (R) requested an opinion from Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) on two pieces of legislation that passed during the 2021 session and why they were not being applied to ERISA plans or plans that originate outside of Texas. Once Mr. Scott has completed his preliminary review, PCMA and our coalition partners will respond using the appropriate channels.
