In Review: PCMA met with Congresswoman Angela Spanberger’s (D) gubernatorial campaign to discuss the value of PBMs. As you may recall, part of the Congresswoman’s health care platform includes “Lower costs of prescription drugs by cracking down on the middlemen — Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)”. Questions and concerns raised by the campaign staff included various topics, including: the state Medicaid program, mail-order, patient steering, incentivizing with lower copays, and “requiring” a prescription to be filled with mail-order.

Up Next: PCMA will be meeting with Congresswoman Spanberger at next week’s Democratic Governor’s Association event being held in Madison, Wisconsin.
