In Review: PCMA was successful in getting 18 policy items related to PBMs removed from the governor’s budget proposal. Examples of the policies that are now eliminated include PBM fiduciary mandate, gold carding provisions, and a ban on copay accumulators. These policies and 15 others have been removed from the budget and are no longer being considered. PCMA counsel also met with the Senate Health Committee Chairwoman, Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara (R), about the anti-PBM, AB 173/SB 203. The Senator, who is a co-sponsor of the bill, indicated that there will be a public hearing on May 28. PCMA is organizing a broader stakeholder meeting on Tuesday, May 13, to discuss testimony and strategy.
