In Review: Last Monday, Management Council met to consider and assign interim committee topics. They approved the topic of “Pharmacology” in the Joint Labor, Health & Social Services Committee, that includes step therapy, regulation of medical coverage of obesity-related medical treatments, and access to alternatives to opioids for safe pain management.

Up Next: The Joint Labor Health and Human Services Committee is scheduled to meet on April 29 and under the topic of “Pharmacology” the proposed agenda indicates they will be discussing “Step Therapy” along with another non-PBM related issues. There have only been 30 minutes allotted for this discussion. PCMA and members’ companies will discuss on our call this Tuesday.
