(Washington, D.C.) — The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) announced today that Adam Kautzner, PharmD, president of Express Scripts, has assumed the role of chairman of the PCMA Board of Directors.
“I would like to congratulate Adam for his appointment to this important leadership role,” said PCMA President and CEO JC Scott. “Adam’s experience and clinical expertise as pharmacist will be invaluable as pharmacy benefit companies continue working to secure savings, enable better health outcomes, expand access to quality coverage and lower prescription drug costs for patients.”

Kautzner has been with Express Scripts for over 15 years. Prior to being named president, he held various leadership roles overseeing supply chain strategy and initiatives, managing key strategic relationships, and directing formulary development. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of supply chain, responsible for pharmaceutical contracting, retail network contracting and drug sourcing. Previously, he was chief pharma trade relations officer where he led interactions and contracting with pharma, supply chain account management, and drug formularies.
Adam earned his doctorate of pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist certification from Purdue University.
