(Washington, D.C.) — Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) President and CEO JC Scott issued the following statement on the Senate’s passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework legislation:
“We are encouraged that there is bipartisan support for repealing the Medicare rebate rule, which if allowed to take effect will drastically increase premiums for seniors and other Medicare Part D beneficiaries.
“The Senate’s inclusion of a rebate rule delay in the infrastructure legislation is a good start to full and permanent repeal of this policy from the last administration. We look forward to working with Congress and the Biden Administration to repeal the rebate rule so that we can move forward on pro-patient, necessary policies to help lower prescription drug costs. PCMA has put forward a comprehensive set of policy reforms that would save taxpayers over $255 billion in the form of lower costs.”
